2025 Registration Dates:

July 5th, July 19th, August 2nd, August 16th

The SFMNP offers $50 in free vouchers to eligible seniors to purchase fresh, locally grown fruits, vegetables, fresh-cut herbs, and raw honey at certified farmers markets across Mecklenburg County. The $50 comes in a booklet of 10 vouchers worth $5 each, which can be spent at any participating market between July 1 and September 30, 2025.

Enrollment Opens: July 1, 2025
Voucher Season: July 1 – September 30, 2025
Who’s Eligible:

  • Adults 60+ years old

  • Residents of Mecklenburg County

  • Monthly income at or below $2,413 for a 1-person household or $3,261 for a 2-person household

Participating Markets:

  • Davidson Farmers Market

  • Matthews Community Farmers Market

  • North Meck Community Farmers Market

  • Uptown Farmers Market

  • Charlotte Regional Farmers Market

 -Each eligible participant receives one booklet of 10 vouchers worth $5 each
 -No change is given, so plan to use full value
 -Vouchers must be signed on the front before use
 -Vouchers cannot be replaced if lost or stolen

Enrollment will be available at the participating markets (except Charlotte Regional Farmers Market), and more sign-up sites will be added throughout the season. Vouchers are first-come, first-served while supplies last.


Who Runs the Program

The Seniors Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program is a statewide initiative led by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NC DHHS), Division of Aging. In Mecklenburg County, the program is proudly administered by the Charlotte Mecklenburg Food Policy Council, working in partnership with local markets to connect seniors with fresh, local food.
