After launching a pilot program in 2025, we are excited to now offer our young patrons at Radish Roots Corner an opportunity to truly get to know farmers and try new fruits and vegetables. Children ages 4 through 12 years old will be able to participate in our Token and Taste Program. After participating in the day’s craft activity, each child will be given $5 in Radish Roots tokens to spend with the farmers on fruits and vegetables only. We will track their progress over the season with the hope that consumption of fruits and vegetables will increase. We have fun prizes to encourage participation throughout the season, along have kid-friendly recipes, cooking demos, and engaging farmers to help them learn to love “real” food.

We encourage children to use the tokens the same day but if not, they can certainly be carried over to another Saturday. Tokens will only be valid at the Uptown Farmers Market, they cannot be used at another market.
