Nebedaye Farms is centered on the principles of community, environment, education, health and economics and brings together local advocates in the creation of Charlotte’s first agrihood model. A community collective, focused on the work the advocates have been doing as individuals around food security, health and housing. 

Nebedaye means ‘never die’ in many African languages and is symbolic of the planned work efforts of the farm to teach food sovereignty, economic empowerment, health and wellness. Access to food, housing and healthcare continues to be an important indicator in historically and socially rooted inequalities, as a result the goal of the Nebedaye Farms project is to improve the quality of life in underserved areas of Charlotte and address food insecurity in the local community by producing the powerful Moringa tree and other crops such as blueberries, blackberries, grapes, various vegetables and medicinal plants for the community.
