Celebrating the market’s opening in 2020 and the new public gathering space in Uptown focused on supporting local farms and food vendors, educating on nutrition, and addressing food insecurity.

Highlights:

· At 10am, Mayor Lyles will cut the celebratory ribbon. Sponsors and partner organizations will provide comments.

· We will officially introduce a new two-story mural by local artist Curtis King promoting community and nutritious food at the farmers market. This project is made possible through a grant from the City of Charlotte and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Food Policy Council. Special thanks to First Baptist Charlotte for providing the venue for the mural.

· Children’s activities will include a visit from Homer of the Charlotte Knights, art projects, and a scavenger hunt.

· Live music and cooking demo.
