[ Vegetables & Fruits ]

Gabor Farms was started on Family land in Richmond County.  My wife and I are both New York raised and veterans of the armed forces.  We began growing back- yard vegetables in Virginia 15 years ago and decided to transition to a larger scale here in NC.  Our primary crop is mushrooms but we also grow conventional vegetables and fruits. We do not use pesticides in our grow areas and utilize sustainable practices.  Our physical farm (2 3/4 acres) consists of four shipping containers, hydroponic greenhouse, three 100’ row tunnels, field crops, strawberry field (4 – 100’ rows), fruit trees (figs, pears, peach & plum).  Situated on the perimeter of the farm are chickens, ducks, grape vine and blueberry plants.  Additional growing areas are 17 (12’x6’) raised beds which consist of herbs and potatoes crops and medicinal mushrooms).

Our main crop are mushrooms which are grown year-round in a temperature and humidity-controlled environment.  Our secondary mushroom production area is within our production warehouse which is equipped with mylar grow tents which are humidity and temperature controlled and equipped with exhaust and intake vents for the safety of the staff.  Gabor Farms is proud to be in the process of building our second mushroom laboratory located within the production facility.
