Farmers’ Stands:
Attendees can make the most of a visit to our producers-only market by getting to know the farmer that grows their food. Farmers have nutrition information at their stands and readily share about their growing methods, along with favorite ways to prepare the foods. Once one realizes the difference in taste and nutrition that freshness and sustainable practices brings, you will not settle for less.

Newsletter:
Complimentary subscription sign-up for the Market’s weekly newsletter. Each weeks’ edition includes a variety of nutrition facts, recipes, interviews with a farmer/food artisans, and nutrition column to help educate about optimizing food choices. Past copies of the newsletter are posted on the website for reference.

“Farmacy” programs:
We are studying programs that have been successful at other markets across the country, partnering with healthcare professionals and nutritionists to “prescribe” fruits, vegetables and healthy proteins to their patients as part of their healthcare plan.

Cooking Demonstrations:
Cooking demonstrations have proven effective at farmers markets as many people will add certain foods to their diet if they are instructed in how to prepare it – and if they were able to taste it before buying it. Many of our own vendors serve as guest cooking demo chefs!

Children’s Activities:
Our curriculum for our youngest patrons is focused on agriculture/farming, nutrition, and sustainability. We are thrilled to partner with several premier visual arts organizations who provide engaging activities around these themes for children at the market. Look for the large children’s tent area when you visit and see what activity is taking place! We also encourage kids to interact with the farmers and vendors as much as possible through scavenger hunts and produce searches. We host children’s musical groups at the market so children will always feel right at home and know that farmers markets are all about food and fun! Keep up with our monthly activity schedule through the newsletter.
